Paul Pelosi, the 82-year-old husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was sentenced to five days in jail on Tuesday for drunk driving in connection with a May vehicle accident in California.
However, according to the Los Angeles Times, Paul will not receive any additional jail time because he has already served two days in jail.
Joseph Solga, judge of the Napa County Superior Court, stated that Nancy’s husband also received a good behavior credit for two further days. Regarding his remaining day in jail, the Court has mandated that he participate in a court labor program.
As the court labor program transforms the one day in jail into eight hours of community service, Paul’s attorney stated that his client must perform eight hours of community service. According to Crime Online, Paul Pelosi was also placed on probation for three years.

Paul Pelosi pled guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol while injuring another person. In Napa County, the husband of Nancy Pelosi collided his black 2021 Porsche with an oncoming Jeep.
After the crash on May 28, he was sentenced to jail. This jail term has already been factored into his sentence. According to BBC, Paul Pelosi’s guilty plea has prevented him from facing a more serious charge.
In addition, he was sentenced to undergo a three-month course on drunk driving and pay restitution of around $7,000. Paul will not lose his license, but he will be compelled to install an ignition device on his vehicle that needs an alcohol breath test before the engine will start.
The judge, Solga, also rejected a second case against Paul for driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent. Paul Pelosi was absent from court at the verdict announcement.
When the crash occurred, Nancy Pelosi was in Rhode Island. She was giving a commencement address at Brown University. Her administration refused to comment on the incident, citing “privacy concerns.”
