Kevin Costner is reportedly disappointed that his most recent Paramount+ film did not garner as many nominations as he had hoped.
A source told National Enquirer that Yellowstone was ignored by the Emmys, and Costner is furious because he gave his all to the film. The insider claimed:
“Kevin has thrown his life and soul into this show, and he’s appalled his incredibly talented and hard-working team hasn’t been recognized. It’s not about him, although it stings from a personal point, too. It’s more about the overall principle and hypocrisy as he sees it.”
According to the informant, Costner privately hopes that the right-minded celebs will abandon the Emmys and vote independently. It added:
“He’s putting the word out among his many friends in the biz, including those in the country community, who are all equally baffled and disgusted. It could well blow up in the woke brigade’s face and that would give theYellowstone gang a great deal of satisfaction.”
According to the tattler, even though Costner expended so much work on Yellowstone, the project failed to attract the attention of viewers due to the show’s subject matter. It furthered:
“A lot of people have a view that Yellowstone is all about land-use politics, is anti-woke, and appeals more to the heartland than coastal cities. But Kevin is calling that hogwash. What the show’s really about is a fear that a way of life is ending amid changes in culture and the threat of so-called progress.”
However, the tabloid’s allegations should be taken with a grain of salt. It makes sense that Costner would be protective of Yellowstone. However, this does not indicate that he is disappointed that the Emmys overlooked the series.
There are various reasons why the Emmys may not have included Yellowstone in this year’s list of nominees. And Costner, who has decades of experience in the industry, surely realizes this.
