Queen Elizabeth snub: Charles’ mom not interested to reunite with Meghan Markle, Prince Harry in September?

Royal writer Daniela Elser said Queen Elizabeth may ignore Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their September visit to the United Kingdom.

In September, Harry and Meghan will visit the United Kingdom and Germany to participate in a number of charity events. A spokesperson for the pair said on Monday:

“Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to visit with several charities close to their hearts in early September.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are scheduled to attend the One Young World Summit in Manchester. The couple will then travel to Germany to participate in the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023 One Year to Go event. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan will return to the United Kingdom for the WellChild Awards on September 8.

Harry and Meghan were last seen during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, after they retired from senior royal duties in 2020. The couple’s public appearances, however, were limited. They were not invited to the Buckingham Palace balcony because it was reserved for senior working royals only.

Elser questioned the couple’s visit and their expected meeting with the Queen. She stated:

“Will we see Her Majesty make time to see her grandson and granddaughter-in-law? Or could she deliver the snub to end all snubs?”

Boris Johnson is expected to resign as Prime Minister during Harry and Meghan’s visit to the UK, and either Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak will take his place.  Elser said:

“Not only will this ensure that the Sussexes high-wattage return will be unceremoniously shunted down the ladder into second or third place on the day, this also sets the stage for a potentially very awkward situation with the Queen.”

Meanwhile, royal expert Ingrid Seward advises the couple to spend time with their royal relatives in order to soften their rocky relationship. She shared:

“Harry also needs to keep on good terms with his father, who will have Harry’s future in the palm of his hand should the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wish to return to England on a more permanent basis.”

It’s unclear whether Archie and Lilibet will join the pair during their tight September itinerary.
