Fallout 76 is getting a new update, inviting players to revisit an industrial wasteland long plagued by contamination and conflict. “Expeditions: The Pitt” will be released on September 13, and it will be the first time in Fallout 76 that players will be able to leave Appalachia.

The Pitt, for those unfamiliar with the series, refers to the ruins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This once-great industrial metropolis has been tainted by destruction and radiation. Aside from citizens mutating into Trogs, a power struggle between the blue-collar Union faction and the power-hungry band of Raiders known as Fanatics is exacerbating the situation.

Fallout 76 players must form an alliance with the Union and aid them in their fight against the Raiders. Players can improve their reputation with this faction in addition to earning new weapons and armor.

Be Prepared

Expeditions are large-scale repeatable missions in The Pitt that can be completed solo or with a team of up to four players. Expeditions are open to all players, and missions are scaled based on the team’s player level. However, when exploring The Pitt, it’s always a good idea to come prepared and armed.

The Pitt’s labyrinthine streets are sure to put even the most experienced players to the test, as the challenges are on par with the game’s end-of-questline missions. Those who successfully complete Expeditions gain experience and loot. Stamps, a new currency that can be exchanged for powerful and rare Expedition-themed rewards, are also available.

Participate in the Expedition

Players can get the base game with “Fallout 76: The Pitt Standard Edition” once Expeditions are released. There’s also the Fallout 76: The Pitt Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game as well as the following extras:

Pittsburgh Neighborhood C.A.M.P. Kit Fanatic Paint and Fusion Core Recharger for the 10mm SMG Trog Plushie.

If you already own the game, simply purchase The Pitt Recruitment Bundle to add the Digital Upgrade Bundle from the Deluxe Edition to your collection. Those who have the Expeditions update can access the Pitt for free.

“Fallout 76” is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
