On Thursday evening, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that bans any transactions between the parent company of TikTok, ByteDance, and U.S. citizens due to national security reasons. Tiktok confirmed to TechCrunch that it would launch a new feature that will allow users to crosspost their Tiktok Stories on both Facebook and Instagram, which is already available to some users.

When users tapped the share button on their stories in the old format, the only option was to share their stories with their friends in the app. The same interface now offered more options in a new row, including the ability to share on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, and Instagram Stories.

This new feature may be useful for creators who frequently post to the platform and want to connect with their followers about their content outside of TikTok.

Given that TikTok stories are still not a fully launched feature of the app, this may or may not be rolled out on their official launch, or adding more detail that may improve the overall feature so that users can enjoy and utilize it perfectly.

TikTok Stories went global in August 2021, the same month Twitter removed a similar feature called Fleets. According to the company, this was added to provide users with more storytelling tools such as videos, Duets, Stitch, and LIVE.

Tiktok Video Demotion

According to Endgadget, this new sharing method feature may give TikTok visibility to other platforms, such as Meta’s two social media sites, after Instagram’s new algorithm affected them in terms of work on downranking their videos.

Although they will not be deleted, videos posted on Instagram Reels with TikTok watermarks will not be prioritized for promotion in users’ feeds. According to Meta, original content created for their own applications will be prioritized.

Brand New Filters Have Arrived

TikTok introduced a new filter that generates Text-to-Image AI, which causes a previously unseen image to appear after you type phrases, words, or dates that are very important to you. These images were popular among users because they demonstrated photorealism and ambiguity.

To use the filter, go to the filter search bar, “AI Green Screen,” and type the word or phrase you want to see in the photos.

Tiktok expanded its features in March by displaying their stories on the For You page. Users can also like and comment on a specific story, just like they can on any other Tiktok video. The only difference is that it is only valid for 24 hours.

These added features can be presented as the company’s edges since their competitors still do not have these. A Tiktok spokesperson said to TechCrunch that “Currently, we’re expanding a pilot test, which provides creators with additional formats to bring their creative ideas to life for the TikTok community.”
