Fans were shocked when news of Darius Campbell Danesh’s death spread online. His haunting final photos were recently released to the public, revealing that he hung out with a celebrity just weeks before his tragic death.

According to the Daily Mail UK, the former “Pop Idol” contestant appeared to be in good spirits in Los Angeles nine weeks before his death.

In a viral selfie, the singer can be seen wearing a brown shirt and a cap while posing with a fan outside Rod Stewart’s Hollywood Bowl while on the phone.

He was photographed with actor Gerard Butler just days before the fan encounter. When Danesh moved to the United States, the two became fast friends.

The two can be seen walking their dog barefoot along Malibu Beach. Before his tragic death, the “Species” star had been living in America for 15 years.

Darius Campbell Danesh was discovered dead

Early reports stated that the actor was discovered unresponsive in his apartment in Minnesota.

His family confirmed his death as well, saying, “The local police department has confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances.”

As of this writing, Danesh’s cause of death is unknown, but his family has stated that his remains will be examined by doctors to determine how he died.

Darius Danesh: Who Was He?

The Scotsman rose to prominence after competing in the first season of “Pop Idol” in the United Kingdom. He was also featured in the ITV series “Popstars.”

Aside from being a successful singer, he is also a West End theater actor, having previously appeared in shows such as “Chicago,” “Funny Girl,” and many others.

Simon Cowell offered him a record deal to work with producer Steve Lillywhite early in his career, but he declined.

In 2002, he released his first album, “Dive In,” which was a commercial success, peaking at number six on the UK Albums chart.

In terms of his acting career, he made history when he was cast as the youngest actor to play Billy Flynn in the West End production of “Chicago.”
