BTS RM, however, made it clear that he did not undergo any procedure to improve his looks. BigHit Entertainment, the K-pop group’s agency, revealed that the surgery was medically necessary in order to fix a deviated septum, which affected his breathing.
In a press release, BigHit Entertainment said:
“It is true that he underwent surgery. He recently had the procedure and has been discharged from the hospital. For the time being, he plans on resting and focusing on restoring his health.”

A number of fans also think BTS RM has not gone through other cosmetic procedures to achieve a flawless look. One fan wrote in Quora:
“WHAT?! No! Namjoon would never do that – when he is singing about loving ourselves, to love our body and everything, why would he change his body? This is just – shit. I don’t think that he would do something like that, when he is singing to love ourselves. That would be a lie and then he would make other fans to make plastic surgery. No. Just no.”

BTS RM said:
“What I just felt the most is that we have to be directly participating in our whole album more. Like, you know, personally. And lyrics, melodies, arrangements. Someday we will do it all by ourselves. That’s our goal, I think.”

There is no denying that artistic freedom is part of the group’s appear as a K-pop group, which is something that is not typically given to artists in early years. Some members, including BTS RM, played a role in the songwriting and producing process when they first debuted.
