Song Joong Ki and Shin Hyun Bin reportedly in talks for a new project
AllKpop released a report on the matter, detailing the latest developments about the cast of the new show. As noted, actress Shin Hyun Bin is, reportedly, considering an offer from JTBC.
While no one could confirm the casting offer, the Hospital Playlist star’s label released a statement to address the speculations. Yooborn Company said that the actress is “currently reviewing an offer for a role in JTBC drama, The Youngest Son of the Chaebol Family,” emphasizing, however, that “nothing has been confirmed” yet.
Earlier last week, similar reports emerged, discussing Song Joong Ki’s new potential role for the JTBC drama. Publications said that he is “in talks” with the production for the lead role, adding that he was the first actor to receive an offer.
Following all the buzz surrounding the Vincenzo star, his agency released an announcement, confirming the casting offer. While HiSTORY D&C verified the speculations, it pointed out that he is still reviewing the project.
There are no guarantees yet as to whether he will accept the project. Likewise, the case seemingly applies to Shin Hyun Bin. But, if she and Song Joong Ki take the roles, reports asserted that many fans and followers will “look forward” to witness their on-screen chemistry.

‘Sweet Home’ actor Kim Nam Hee is said to be joining Song Joong Ki
Meanwhile, a separate report from AllKpop stated that Kim Nam Hee has joined the cast of The Youngest Son of the Chaebol Family. The claims came from multiple insiders, saying that the Sweet Home star accepted an offer earlier on Monday.
As for the exact role that he will play in the JTBC drama, no confirmations have been made yet. Moreover, the actor has yet to break his silence about the matter.
The network, as well as the production, also seemingly maintains its silence about the new project. In fact, even the title of the series appears to have remained unconfirmed. While some publications refer to it as “The Youngest Son of the Chaebol Family,” others use “A Chaebol Family’s Youngest Son.”
Nevertheless, the material will be an adaptation of the popular webtoon, The Youngest Son of Sunyang. It was supposed to premiere back in 2019. But, due to undisclosed reasons, it is now likely slated for a 2022 release.
It follows the story of Yoon Hyun Woo, the role which Song Joong Ki is, reportedly, considering, who meets his demise after the youngest son of a powerful family murders him. He manages to come back to life in the body of his murderer, and plans to take his revenge.
